摘要

 

According to process of steel tube, steel tube can be divided into seamless steel tube and welded steel tube. Seamless steel tube includes hot rolled tube, cold-drawn tube, extruded tubes, pushed tubes. Welded steel tube can be divided into electric arc welded steel tube, electric resistance welded steel tube, gas welded steel tube, stove welded steel tube if classified by process.   
  
During 2000 and 2007, domestic apparent consumption of seamless tube increased to 15.21 million tons from 4.189 million tons. Meanwhile, domestic output of seamless tube increased to 18.6333 million tons from 4.158 million tons; and output has started to exceed domestic demand since 2003 and the gap has been increasing year by year. By 2007 the gap between domestic output and apparent demand has increased to 3.42 million tons.  
  
Welded tubes are mainly used in building construction, machinery and petroleum, the consumption of three industries accounted for over 95 percent of all consumption. In 2007, output of welded tubes in China amounted to 23.61 million tons, with an annual increase of 11.29 percent.
